Cali Raw Dog Food

Cali Raw Dog Food Review

Caring parents often agonize over what’s best for their offspring, and diet is usually one of the top things on the list. Guardians will do everything in their power to make sure that their little ones are getting the best nutrition. They do this because they know the connection between good food and good quality of life. Conversely, for many people, their dogs are their children, and they are just as concerned regarding the best diet for their pups!

To have complete control over what your dogs eat, you would have to buy every ingredient yourself and prepare it every day. However, with the demands of life (family, employment, and other obligations), that can prove to be very difficult, if not impossible. What if you could have the next best thing and have convenience meet quality? That is where Cali Raw Nutrition comes in!

Cali Raw Dog Foods

What Is Cali Raw Nutrition?

Cali raw nutrition is a dog food manufacturer that delivers quality, nutrient-dense raw food. It is a company based in Southern California (hence its name).

Their food is so nutritious that it is 100% human-grade (meaning humans can consume it as well), which helps stops the risk of bacterial contamination. It is tailored to puppies and adults of all breeds and all stages of life.

Sometimes having a loss can inspire a new beginning. That is how Brandine Strand founded her company in 2018. Her beloved dog died of kidney failure. Convinced that diet and her Chihuahua’s illness was connected, she began researching canine diets and its effects on the dog’s longevity.

She switched from her old store brought kibble feed, to a raw diet and saw her other dog’s health flourish. After a series of tests, she made her meal creations accessible throughout the United States.

Why Raw Foods?

Cali raw nutrition centers their food products by the B.A.R.F. (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food Diet) feeding model. This feeding standard was established by Dr. Billinghurst, a veterinary physician, who after observing his canine patients, realized that dogs who consumed raw foods had a better life expectancy than dogs on kibble diets. Raw food has been credited for having the following benefits:

  • Improve digestion.
  • Help dogs who have sensitive stomachs.
  • The appearance of the pup’s coats and skin are improved.
  • Help pets with allergies.
  • Help canines maintain a healthy weight.
  • Inflammation in dogs decreases.
  • It helps dogs live longer and age better.

About The Food

The formulated ratio of Cali Raw dog food is about 80% raw meat and 19% vegetables. Added oils, vitamins, and minerals make up 1%. All of their ingredients are sourced throughout the U.S. and is produced in a California facility.

Their food is U.S.D.A. inspected and certified, and the food is frozen after it’s made for freshness preservation. Their products are shipped within two days and are accessible within 48 states.

What’s In the Puppy and Adult Formulas

Because of A.A.F.C.O. (Association of American Feed Control Officials) guidelines require that all ingredients in dog food be listed in the order of prevalence by weight, reviewing the first ten ingredients gives you a pretty good understanding of what’s in your dog’s food.

For example, their Puppy Formulas are recommended for younger dogs up to 10 to 14 (depending on breed) months old. It is suggested that puppies are fed four times daily until they are weaned to fewer meals when they transition to adult food. This Formula has these two flavor options with the following ingredients:

Turkey/Lamb: Turkey neck, Lamb, Turkey, Green Beans, Lamb Liver, Pumpkin, Melon, Broccoli, Salmon oil, Kelp, and other ingredients.

Their Adult Formulas is recommended for dogs 12 to 14 and older (depending on breed). It is suggested that you feed them twice daily. Their following flavors and ingredients are:

Beef: Beef heart, Beef, Ground Beef Bones, Beef Spleen, Carrots, Beef Kidney, Broccoli, Kale, Apple, Salmon oil, and other ingredients.
